Ah, for me, this is the way we see ourselves. We are still in high school....aren't we? We are still 18 and we are still ready for anything.....unfortunately not true, but the way we see ourselves sometimes. Of course, I have a feeling this could be about your daughter. In any case, this is well written and the imagery is lovely. I liked the change in margins. Lydi**
I loved the complete poem.
"she is a melody,
not to be held
but seized for an instant
in the shadows of a recollection once "
Your create beautiful place and create good visions and thoughts. The gentle flow of the poem allowed the reader to fall into the outstanding words dear friend.

Trace did a great job making the words float down the page. It was a lovely visual, but I must confess to copy and pasting into plain text to analyze a bit more after the first read. I'm just one person, but find the formatting a bit distracting when I want to focus on words and meaning. But I have trouble tracking from line to line anyway.
The content is exquisitely layed out, however. It's soft and subtle in its sensuality which is a feature you share as writers, but in the end, its the message of the love captured in memory, forever young, that holds me. Every woman wants to be her, and every man wants to have her, whatever the guise she takes. I think women carry around a male version of that first, unspoiled love. Its one that we keep incased..like a snowglobe that we look at occasionally, but it mesmerizes every time.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I know Trace will appreciate them as well. :) Julie
Well Ms Jewel... Your poetry is like that old creek under the woods... The I used to walk on barefoot, letting the coolness of the water sooth my troubles through my feet... The creek that decades later I return to after decades of walking over asphalt is just there, waiting for me under the shade of trees... And then, I take off my shoes...

I just love your poems Julie, so true and kind. "satin scented script" really like those words you choose. Fantastic write, you never let me down.
Oops! I had got come back and edit this review, as I just saw Trace collaborated with you on this piece, so kudos to you Trace on this as equal credit goes to you both. A lovely piece you two produced.
This s such a wonderful collaboration...love the simile and metaphor, the alliteration and flow of this piece...lines 7 to 14 are my favorites; just simply beautiful comparisons... beautiful work, you two... beautiful!

"Eternal youth caught only in a memory?" Very captivating words!
It's one of my fav. writes. Your poetry dappling the tings of sensuality either on words which sounding very possessive as well. Liked the certainty of love-analogies. Love has no way to get shaped so it's true enough to claim... it's captured in poetry, cause.. it itself belongs to the poem - a very alluring poem that's always seemed to be "caught in a memory". Wondrous job!!
