The Blush

The Blush

The Blush

I remember our very first touch

your beautiful lips, the blush

of pink so smooth and tastes so sweet

the exhilarating rush

as you took my kiss and now my heart

beats so much softer… still

you may keep the kiss for none since then

has left me such a thrill

A thrill I fear I cannot disguise

with pearls and silk in place

with just a look you see beyond

the blush upon my face

beneath the lace where passion flows

in feelings so surreal

as I long to drink from your sweetness

should another kiss you steal!

Your beautiful poem stirs memories of innocence and awakening for this old man. Anyone with a romantic bone in their body would have their first "kiss" flame re-ignite from your words.
Thank you for your beautiful words.

Very artfully presented, with the artwork, font selection, coloring, & flowing words to match your font. Your rhymes are so gentle, barely noticed, as the message takes center stage (my preferred priority). I had to re-read this line to get it right: "you may keep the kiss for none since then" . . . it looks like you never use commas, but this phrase could really use one. I like the many tactile descriptions that match the flowing nature of your writing style.

I love that natural blush when a girl gives you. Gives clues to a hell lot of the things.

as usual...smooth as silk...

i like the end of this....reminds me of my favorite play...Romeo and Juliet---
"trespass sweetly urged, give me my sin again" that second kiss for them...

I've just said to someone that if I want my fix of lovely, gentle, romantic poetry I know where to come. And don't I just find somewhere else?

Ah that first kiss....the perfect kiss...the one that stole your innocence. This was beautifully written Julie. The flow and softness to this was remarkable.
