Sea Dreams

Sea Dreams

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a beautiful afternoon at the beach ~ just scribbling ~

"

For whatever we lose (like a you or a me) it’s always ourselves we find in the sea

.…e.e. cummings

Sea Dreams

On sapphire seas that ebb and flow

with waves that dance under the glow

of bright sunbeams in shades of gold

weaving the dreams I cannot hold

yet draw me in, gently surround

the one who is willing to drown

in gems of light and fantasy

far, far too deep for eyes to see…

Where all is calm and the embrace

of peace will fill the empty place

that found my heart...now I regale

in these waters where I set sail

in carefree drift, much like the tide

I rise,

                                                                I fall,

                                                                                and still I glide

though never quite reach sandy shores

where castles of forevermore

stand fragile as the dreams once made

Perhaps I’m simply a mermaid…

Another, certainly one of my fav. poems.

Yes, love's what that draws romance to hearts', saves their heartbeats to world, makes 'em feel oft. familiar with dreams, & that always takes hopeless romantic spirits to "Sea-Dreams". It's even the love that makes choices & options ... to be lived along. What a beautiful poetry it is! Enjoyed reading it to the fullest.

All combined, a most entreating work of art, Julie.
I particularly enjoyed the lovely picture (albeit, sans her head … LOL!), layout, font choice, and color.
With a feel of almost ethereal mystery, my emotions ran from peaceful and poetically stirred to poignant; then, the bit of playfulness in the end.
I like the Couplets in 8-count, and the iambic beat made for a honey smooth flow, with the exception of L6, and how enjoyably creative of you to split L14 to befit its meaning.

You are a fine writer — thank you, Julie … much enjoyed! ⁓ Richard

Beautiful writing. I've enjoyed the general smooth flow of the poem, and that the narrator comes to a conclusion that she's a mermaid.

A beautiful and satisfying sea of a dreamy reality. A beautiful picture and font to complete the alluring sun upon the thirsty skin of the tidal waves. Sensual and beautiful my gorgeous friend!

I believe you are a mermaid, Julie. What a lovely lilting write this is. The tranquility of the sea flows through every line. Tender, gentle romance. Just wonderful. Lydi**
