Just wonderful Ol' Chap! This makes me want to have my best man Geoffrey pour some sherry and prepare my ether in my sitting room whilst I look over my old military memoirs. It seemed like just yesterday that I was beheading Punjabi left and right in Kafiristan during the Sepoy Mutiny. I seem to recall that my good friend Magistrate Templeton was there, though he was just just a young Leftenant like myself. Why, he could kill Sepoy and rile the women at the same time, what? I, myself, am guilty of curing dirty puzzles of their hysteria over a bottle of Punjabi ether. Oh, what wonderful times! Bully!

I also recall our adventures in Kafiristan during which we managed to find all sorts of trouble. Do you recall the cupid kettle drums on that one particular wrench whose father you killed in a duel? Nevertheless, fancy that we should become fast friends in that wretched place were a gentleman could not even get a proper glass of brandy while ordering press-ganged infantry into pitch battle.
Keep your mustache clean!

You write with such beauty. I find myself standing in a swathe of light with each of your poems. You are an artist extraordinaire! I always want to just dive into your imagery.

I'm humbled by your kind and generous comment and compliment. Thanks so much :) Julie
Julie, I thought of cotton candy just after reading the title in my RR queue, and sure enough the metaphor is used to gorgeous effect in the poem. This piece, like most of your others, delves into and divulges a story in gossamer wings, lets it fly around in its telling, then wrapping up in an ending that brings it full circle, completing the lovely journey succinctly. Lovely as is your norm! take care...dan

Cotton and candy and summer - a wonderful combination. Thank you for your kind words Dan :) Julie
I like how the poem has the ability to make me visualize it. I could pretty much see the clouds of pink floating in front of me, and I could feel the evening wind on my face. Good job! :)
Your perfect ability to pull the reader along on a mesmerizing journey
To softly take their hand and guide them along a beautiful path
Lined with happy images and sensual memories.
And leave them with an enduring smile......
For they know they have just experienced something special.
Smiling here.
