Looking Back

Looking Back

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a little scribble ~

"

                        reinfried marass photography

Looking back,

                                 you drove too fast…

top down

fourth gear

silver bumpers shining in the blue light shadow of an impetuous moon

hair teased on a breeze

scented of burning rubber and desire

Intoxicated

you lead me down an unknown road

somewhere beyond the realm of imagination

overwhelming to all my senses

                                 my only certainty…

                                                  I knew I loved you,

like the wind that stirs the night

So,

      I held on

through breathless bumps and dangerous curves

and potholes that never did get filled

Looking back,

                                      you drove to fast…

but I always enjoyed the ride

funny Julie but although i feel you wrote this to a lover i kept thinking about Princess Grace of Monaco and the crash that killed her, anyway putting that to one side your poem held me in suspense on this wild journey,
' I knew I loved you,
like the wind that stirs the night'
Such are the lines that give beauty to your writing, its always a pleasure and an honor to read your so romantic poetry, thank you :)

The thrill of the fast car driven by the love of your life

Go anywhere
You sit back and relax
and really for once
Smell the sweet aroma of your lover

You are very sweet and I'm thrilled you are here as well! :) Julie
A bittersweet memory.....we hold onto people even when we know they are not perfect. They bring us joy and even if they are a bit dangerous or foolhardy, we want them in our lives. Very emotive, Julie. Good one. Lydi**

Beautiful tender inner feeling they are that only you know how to write, showing emotions that only a few know how to express them as beautifully as you do Julie, absolutely stunning poetry. :) Larry

Perfect picture painted of a desirable drive taken to unknown destinations.
Filled with angst and anticipation. ..... but knowing that no matter where you ended up...
You were with the one you loved.... and at the end of the ride....
That's all that really mattered.

Loved taking the ride with you.
