Looking Back

Looking Back

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a little scribble ~

"

                        reinfried marass photography

Looking back,

                                 you drove too fast…

top down

fourth gear

silver bumpers shining in the blue light shadow of an impetuous moon

hair teased on a breeze

scented of burning rubber and desire

Intoxicated

you lead me down an unknown road

somewhere beyond the realm of imagination

overwhelming to all my senses

                                 my only certainty…

                                                  I knew I loved you,

like the wind that stirs the night

So,

      I held on

through breathless bumps and dangerous curves

and potholes that never did get filled

Looking back,

                                      you drove to fast…

but I always enjoyed the ride

funny Julie but although i feel you wrote this to a lover i kept thinking about Princess Grace of Monaco and the crash that killed her, anyway putting that to one side your poem held me in suspense on this wild journey,
' I knew I loved you,
like the wind that stirs the night'
Such are the lines that give beauty to your writing, its always a pleasure and an honor to read your so romantic poetry, thank you :)

Sums up our journey through life perfectly. ' but I always enjoyed the ride', that's the secret...

Sometimes where we wind up is a surprise but it really doesn't matter.
We'd go anymore with the one that we love and desire.
Great little scribble!

Thank you lovely lady :) Julie
When it ends too quickly there are such deep emotions that cling to things left unsaid... that you loved in this way is beautiful and that you get to write about it and share it with us is wonderful... love is intoxicating but at least you got to love and that is something... love the picture and the poem so very much, Julie...

Thank you for your kind words Woody :) Julie
Oh my, I have 'been there and done that" too. The thrill seemed to overcome the anxiety at the time but '"looking back" we see it in the light of day and the reality of it all sets in. This was just wonderful Julie!
