I am a mother of 6, My kids are still at the age where on Mother's day I get gifts of soggy toast and hand drawn cards/pictures, I sometimes long for them tom grow up and write me words on a card similar to what you have written but at the same time I like them being so innocent and young, so sggy toast instead of loving kind words it is then for another few years :) I'm new here, just joined yesterday, If you have time maybe you could pop by and read some of my work? Many thanks xK.

My daughter is in college now, but I still have her first Mother's Day present to me - a poem and her little handprint from pre-school. Hang on to those precious gifts - they become even more special over the years. I look forward to reading your poetry. Thanks again. Julie

Oh MsJewels this was beautiful but also so sad. I could feel how much you miss her and i dread the day my mother becomes an angel!! Worded so wonderfully and you are right no tears only smiles and remembering the good times!!
You've shared a beautiful poem that caught me by surprise at the end. To celebrate your mother in such a way is inspirational. This is an excellent job Julie.

You're welcome Julie, My mom passed about 12 years ago.
(((((((Julie)))))))))))))) what a beautiful poem. I know you miss your Mom terribly. The love you still feel for her shines through every line of this touching tribute. Memories....they are what we have to hold onto. they have to suffice. Lydi**

Thank you Lydi - I do miss her terribly, but I do have wonderful memories. :) Julie
Really beautiful words.
From what I can read it seems like an memorial poem and your mom would be really proud.
If it's not I guess your mom really appreciate your kind words.
Thanks for sharing.

Julie, I've read a lot of Mother's Day tributes here on WC but yours is probably the sweetest and most tender that I've read. I especially loved how you compared butterflies to tiny ballerinas...gorgeously analogous thought. Thank you for sharing this, it is going into my library favorites. take care...dan

I've been writing poetry for 15 years. My poetry isn't unique in any way, but it is written from the heart.
I have trouble keeping up with everyone's poetry, so please send me rr's.
