I'm humbled by your generous words. Thank you so much :) Julie
I like this poem! It is very short and sweet. I liked the imagery of "singing mouth to mouth;" I feel like it's a metaphor for kissing. Overall, this has a springy and earthy feel to it, and I enjoy that in relation to love. Well done!
Truly romantic you made the beautiful school days alive... Very simple and deep. I liked the last line " in the sweetest passage of the song, all the longings of a lifetime answered" beautiful.
singing mouth to mouth...the sweet, passionate melody of the kiss
nicely done.
you had Yeats on the list...reminds me of how excited sylvia plath was about moving into her final house...the one that he had lived in, and it still had the plaque on the door, "yeats lived here"
perhaps he lives within your words.

I didn't know that about Sylvia Plath. Wouldn't that be amazing to live where Yeats had lived...read moreI didn't know that about Sylvia Plath. Wouldn't that be amazing to live where Yeats had lived...
“Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.”
One of my favorites... :) Julie
I've been writing poetry for 15 years. My poetry isn't unique in any way, but it is written from the heart.
I have trouble keeping up with everyone's poetry, so please send me rr's.
