Tangerine Kissed and Honey Dew Swept

When amethyst dreams pale

like a breath held in the wake of a dreary moon

slipping quietly

across clouds that stir…

 

for reason much too strong for fantasy

too bold for feathery pillows and sleepy yesterdays

 

I’ll gather the breeze

fanned with change

 

whirling

in an overflowing palette of tangerine kisses

rising

as warm as a flame

as soft as tears wept

or petals floating in a sea of golden light

 

Awaken skies

awaken me

honey dew swept

Julie, the imagery used in this piece is so descriptive the words seem to come to life. I could single them out but I'd be writing all night. The one I like most is, "...whirling in an overflowing palette of tangerine kisses..." There used to be a band called Tangerine Dream, and their music was progressive rock, very ethereal and moody; this piece has that type of flavor to it, and I mean that in the best possible way.
