Had The Sun Not Set

Had The Sun Not Set

A Poem by MsJewel

Yes, we would have kissed

if he had been mine…

In Augusts’ warm mist

when ripe on the vine

were strawberries sweet

and luscious to lips

just longing to meet

in soft little sips

The sun was a fire

through clouds of whip cream

‘til fervent desire

in a sky of dreams

faded into the mist

of twilights soft threat

Yes, we would have kissed

had the sun not set

The kiss that never happened, but was oh so wanted,
and more than likely by both.....

One never knows when the opportunity may arise again,
don't let it pass by without exploring the possibilities.

The softest expression
of love is felt
when wanting lips
together melt.

XOXO ;}

It’s a thin line between being hesitant and experiencing immense joy, often or not missing out , you just want to kick yourself for not

Luscious with longing. You have a definite rhyming scheme, and yet it takes a back seat to your chosen words and phrases. But shouldn't it be "whipped" instead of "whip"? Trust me to focus in on that one!

Those kisses not attempted. Leave us wishing for long days and embrace.
"Yes, we would have kissed
had the sun not set"
The mystery of things not finished leave us yearning for a second chance. Thank you dear Julie for your amazing poetry.

Thank you Avinash :) Julie
But there be a kiss, the sun is warmth as breath and wind is as fast as our desire.
This is so beautiful.

The sun was a fire
through clouds of whip cream
