Sleepless

Sleepless

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ heartprints and longing ~

"

Longing sits softly on my windowsill

wistfully tethered to moonbeams and starlit wishes

I wish I may, I wish I might

If only

it were that easy

as dreams escape me...

How I ache for a whisper of you

of angel wings

                                                and eternal promises

                to take my breath away

like the breeze through the curtains

                                wrapping around me

                                                                in a moment of serenity

     A kiss of wind

upon a starlit wish

to soothe a shattered heart

that knew nothing of goodbye

If only

Some place are safe zones for the heart. Never attempted, never loved and always wishing for more. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

now what can I say without repeating myself? what distinguishes your poetry from all the others (and there are some excellent ones, no doubt) is the soft touch, the tenderness. you give me the impression that you use a feather to write, not your keypad. stunning imagery!!!!

Thank you for your generous words Woody :) Julie
This has that fragile sense of wistful musing. The first stanza is my favorite, setting the tone for this one.

dear Julie... Your poem is soft and
melancholy... tethered to moonlight
and starlight wishes... touched by
precious memories embedded in
your heart and soul. truly... Pat

you are welcome....... :)
I know where this longing originates, and I am so sorry that you lost the one you loved so dearly, way too soon.
This is such a wonderfully written and sorrowfully sad poem,
If only I could make that pain go away.

Such a sensual sleeplesness. You picture and draw with words and shows us love, friendship and longing each time in a different light. This lovely poem is lighted by moonbeams. Very well done. :) Rudi

Those words are composed for a symphony of love, for moonbeam wrappings and for all to enjoy the moments of serenity. Nothing like keeping and holding on those eternal promises...Excellent....:)....................

this is so beautiful. I could feel my heart pound halfway through and I felt the center of my chest getting heavy. This is brilliantly written.
