Moving South

Moving South

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a romantic scribble ~

"

With every breath, with every sigh

we chase moonlight

soft are the moonbeams

            just out of reach

You…with your midnight eyes

and me…weak from your loveliness

longing for the veil to lift

                        aching to taste joy

                  waiting in the darkness

with no other light except that which is you

burning in my soul

like the soft flame of a lighted match

moving south

with every breath, with every sigh

                                                but just out of reach….

                        and still,

                                                we chase moonlight

One of my favorites poem... as expected. You still write very deep romantic poetry. Your latest-work`s very breathtaking. Every word of this write`s meant to be inhaled with your breath left on your written pages. You still conquer my heart... with words.

I`d be looking forward to reading your more work!

Fanning myself here......so very seductive! Romantic and sensually charismatic. You hint at what will be happening yet don't speak of it explicitly...wonderful, Julie. Lydi**

Thanks so much Lydi! :) Julie
I liked the movement of light in this poem. You really set the mood in this poem with your opening lines about chasing moon beams. Those lines really deliver the image your going for in this piece. Also, they set a very sensual and loving tone.

The stanza about the lover "burning in my soul/like the soft flame of a lighted match" delivers the tender intensity of the moment. This is truly intimate love in both the physical and the spiritual sense. The lovers you write about really connect on a soul to soul level.

Beautifully written, Julie.

Soft, tender, evocative, and sensual all wrapped in one very well written package. Trace's response sent me here, glad I visited.

I love the relationship between the picture and the poem, and how as the reader I could imagine such images even without the picture just based off of your words.

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my poem. I appreciate it very much :) Julie
There is such a dreamish sigh the rises in the warmth of your imagery. With everything so close at hand, the moments just out of reach create a bittersweet longing in this never ending journey of love's light. xo
