Moving South

Moving South

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a romantic scribble ~

"

With every breath, with every sigh

we chase moonlight

soft are the moonbeams

            just out of reach

You…with your midnight eyes

and me…weak from your loveliness

longing for the veil to lift

                        aching to taste joy

                  waiting in the darkness

with no other light except that which is you

burning in my soul

like the soft flame of a lighted match

moving south

with every breath, with every sigh

                                                but just out of reach….

                        and still,

                                                we chase moonlight

One of my favorites poem... as expected. You still write very deep romantic poetry. Your latest-work`s very breathtaking. Every word of this write`s meant to be inhaled with your breath left on your written pages. You still conquer my heart... with words.

I`d be looking forward to reading your more work!

You've included all the romantic signs I relate to best: moonlight, moonbeams, & midnight . . . the "m" alliteration lends itself to soothing love strokes. I like the illusion of "moving south" -- as we kiss & nuzzle up north, our thoughts are always yearning southward, so this is a delightfully subtle way to describe it. Your carefully-selected words conjure up a very sensual scene here.

Welcome dear
I read this, then reread it once again.
What escaped me was only a sigh at the ending both times.
I loved the softness of this.

No, thank you for writing this.
Moving south, but just out of reach. It sounds so familiar. The genre of this poem is not one I usually seek out, but this one speaks to me on many levels, and I like it.

The good description took the reader to good places and great desire. Always good to chase the moonlight. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I'm thrilled you enjoyed this one Steve. Thanks so much :) Julie
Amazing words you've put together Julie. It has somewhat of a mystical feel to it, "waiting in darkness burning in my soul" even though you wait in darkness there's still light within the dark. I love this, enjoyed it.
