For Autumn and For Always

For Autumn and For Always

fall drizzle ~ artist unknown

When the sun won't shine
like I want it to
and my thoughts bleed shades of grey
I will lean on you

When your heart is sad and heavy
and cold winds seem to call
When you need arms to hold you

I’ll catch you should you fall

It is Autumn

the air filled with pumpkin scents

and golden hues

Change stirs the breeze, ruffling the leaves

once lush and green,

dressing the trees in tiny flames

                                Still,

                 it’s a winsome breeze

perhaps it doesn’t know

                                 it’s almost winter….

When the leaves have fallen

and the breeze shivers through lonely branches,

I’ll find shelter in your arms

Knowing....

                                     I can lean on you

you would never let me fall

dearest Julie... here it is the Autumn of 2021...
and we are surviving with poetry. Your coolaboration
is as poignant as ever... looking back at the innocence of
life as leaves fall in melodies of love spent... and seasons
passing as Stars in the Night. As ever, love and admiration...
gently, Pat

You paint your words ever so softly without breaking them Ms Jewel.

Lovely metaphors here, the flowing words of autumn, someone to lean on is so beautifully expressed here using vivid images of fall color; and even when winter comes, I can still find love and someone to shelter and love me. I loved it.

I haven't seen you in my newsfeed, so haven't remembered to check to see what you've been posting. Pat read requested me this poem & I'm glad she did becuz I love it & I want to see if you have other postings I haven't seen. I love your message here, at face value, but I was also seeing this as representing "autumn" as the late part of a person's life (my age - 64). Your poem suggests there's still a bit of friskiness in there that may surprise people! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Yes, we too can fall like a leaf caught in an autumn breeze. How good it is to know that there is someone who is there for us, who will catch us should that happen. We all need someone to lean on now and then when we feel vulnerable. Lovely imagery and layout. Nicely composed work.

dearest Julie and Trace... has it been five years since
I first read this most beautiful Autumn Blessing scattered with
falling emotions of tender tears of petals when flowers weep
and emotions run deep as we wonder when the Autumn of 2020 arrives...
will we feel a retreat in the warmth and love of colors gold and red.
Prayerfully, Pat

a long one madam
I’ll catch you should you fall??? come again.

good madam...
always quiet similar
and similarly diss-similar

good ...

"When the leaves have fallen
and the breeze shivers through lonely branches,
I’ll find shelter in your arms
Knowing....
I can lean on you
you would never let me fall
"
good i like it...

it is not that deep
that thorny
of course the end
or climax
do is blunt
but i like it...
