Season in the Sun

Season in the Sun

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a love scribble ~

"

                 art ~ Irene Sheri

Like his kiss upon my cheek

or a season in the sun

of the summer of the joys

and the essence of the one

With the glory of the dawn

and the beauty of the light

gracefully when intertwined

a sunrise when in my sight

More lovely than angel’s art

or a bird upon the bough

with a song that floats and fades

in twilights tender fall

Where the moon and stars above

when compared will dim in shame

to the flame of sweet desire

at a whisper of his name

Slipping softly into dreams

waking me with fantasy

To just believe fills my heart

with a love that’s come to be

Like a season in the sun

finding me when I am weak

warming me with tenderness

like his kiss upon my cheek

Soft and warm romance throughout this one, Julie. You know I love Irene Sheri's artwork and it complements your poetry so well. "Slipping softly into dreams waking me with fantasy" ahhh....such a lovely line! Great romantic poetry, Julie. Lydi**

A season in the sun...ahhh..remember those summertime romances of our youth? Sigh... the desire and the promise? Love this poem...it is warm and delicious like that kiss on the cheek. ;-)

This is just a beautiful way to put having faith in someone that you love, and that love transcends reality in way. This poem was lovely, and I love your expressions! Well done!

I'm so glad you enjoyed my poem. Thank you for the very kind comment :) Julie
Lovely in more than one way. I read how you said your poems were not unique in any way. Not true. I find you have your own pleasant touch in the basic poems that you write. There is a certain warmth, only you can procure.

i love the art .. i think this is more than a scribble tho :) the depth of true love does not have a bottom .. but it certainly has a season .. the bookend first and last lines lend strength .. i especially like the last verse as well .. "finding me in weakness" .. aint that the truth!? nice one

I admire the cyclic nature of the writing the other thing that it is on one hand powerfull and on the other oh , so gentle is the allure of the sattelites. Sun , stars, and their consequence , shine , light, serene, radiation they all seem to be descending in my view. Which gives Julie not just a tender nature but also the humble moment when you are required to look above and ask politely. Always suprises me how you do not want to touch anything even with your words unless required.

Respect and admiration in this enchanting feeling.

Thankyou

lucky fella.

pretty sweet stuff.

I couldn't figure out the second stanza. it reads a little wonky, I think. Maybe "graceful" instead of "gracefully"?

nice job. fitting description, bud.
