Dreams, Stars, Sunbeams and Roses

Dreams, Stars, Sunbeams and Roses

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a poem I wrote for my daughter ~

"

It is written on the arched sky; it looks out from every star. It is the poetry of Nature; it is that which uplifts the spirit within us...John Ruskin

I caught a star, it found me in a dream

in the shadow of a flower’s tender bloom

catching raindrops safely in my pocket

saved for roses should I find a summer day

Suddenly, the songbirds sang so sweetly

of the sunrise and a day brightly kissed

with ribbons of delight…golden sunbeams

to wrap around my heart with dawns first breath

And for one moment of pure lovely bliss

tiny flecks of light weaved rainbow words

through cloudless skies of blue, a lullaby

awakening the roses sleepy blooms

I picked a sweet bouquet wrapped in sunbeams

and watched the flowers dance in graceful winds

My pockets, no longer filled with raindrops

overflowed with petals of delight

And when night fell, taking the last sunbeam

I heard the stars in whisper with the moon

“We found her in the shadow of a dream...

and filled her with the love of poetry”

Thank you my sweet and kind friend. :) Julie
Beautiful is not a enough to describe your deep feeling for her, and your love of poetry. Your words echo so beautifully in this one, she will know how beautiful poetry is by sharing it with her Mother and with the man she loves too. :)
