Dreaming of the Sea

Dreaming of the Sea

Lady in Moonlight ~ David Kanigan

The nights may pass

and yet I’m drawn

to the slow dance of tide…

white tipped waves a shimmer

in an ocean of liquid light

As quietly the moonlight casts a crown upon the sea

His love…though only a moment known

            was deep and peaceful

                     an ocean

     surrounding me with treasures unknown

I slipped into the mystery of aura light held

far from the pebbled beach

            and reality

drifting carelessly on the soft serenade of tide

I close my eyes

the wind gently rustling my hair

as I strain to catch the whisper of the breeze

                   only an echo…

                                    gone

And yet I’m drawn

to long swims in the bay

in evenings splendor

and walks in the moonlight,

                          collecting muted shells

                                         scattered

                                                   upon lonely shores

                                Dreaming of the sea

Sighs! this was soothing from beggining to end, been dawn with the liquid light, still trying to behold that but as one of my favorite concepts the scene seemed to have invoked silence. Not the kind that someone might scream at you for loudness but the kind that is a consequence of the intrisincal nature of the moment. As the sea in melody of muted waves carries through memories of peaceful times.

Oh, so soothing.

Thankyou

You are welcome, and I do the same with you.
A lost love. One the speaker longs for. Romantic and sad.

I have always loved sea and ocean poems. This one is no exception. Utterly enchanting! You definitely choose your words with care! My favourite lines would be
"and walks in the moonlight,

                          collecting muted shells

                                         scattered

                                                   upon lonely shores"

In my library! :)

Your words splash on our shores with serene beauty of anticipation. The muted shells they bring tell your readers the secrets of the ocean. Amazing,...:)...............
