Dreaming of the Sea

Dreaming of the Sea

Lady in Moonlight ~ David Kanigan

The nights may pass

and yet I’m drawn

to the slow dance of tide…

white tipped waves a shimmer

in an ocean of liquid light

As quietly the moonlight casts a crown upon the sea

His love…though only a moment known

            was deep and peaceful

                     an ocean

     surrounding me with treasures unknown

I slipped into the mystery of aura light held

far from the pebbled beach

            and reality

drifting carelessly on the soft serenade of tide

I close my eyes

the wind gently rustling my hair

as I strain to catch the whisper of the breeze

                   only an echo…

                                    gone

And yet I’m drawn

to long swims in the bay

in evenings splendor

and walks in the moonlight,

                          collecting muted shells

                                         scattered

                                                   upon lonely shores

                                Dreaming of the sea

Sighs! this was soothing from beggining to end, been dawn with the liquid light, still trying to behold that but as one of my favorite concepts the scene seemed to have invoked silence. Not the kind that someone might scream at you for loudness but the kind that is a consequence of the intrisincal nature of the moment. As the sea in melody of muted waves carries through memories of peaceful times.

Oh, so soothing.

Thankyou

Thank you dear one. I love the flowers in your hair..you look beautiful! :) Julie
This may be my new favourite piece from your catalogue my friend...the imagery is absolutely gorgeous and the mood is painfully palpable...I can just feel the loneliness pulling on my heartstrings, and it hurts...'white tipped waves a shimmer in an ocean of liquid light'...I love that...and the muted shells, though 'muted', put an exclamation mark on the sadness that pervades this piece...I love this one :)

This is warm and wistful - it has an ebb and flow to it just like the waves and light you describe.

Utterly gorgeous Julie, you had me hooked in that first stanza. I adore poetry about the sea, but you make it soft and shimmery like no other. I love the wisp of mystery in your dreaming.

"As quitely moon casts a crown upon the sea"- its such a beautiful line. It painted a charming picture infront of my eyes. You always use yor words so delicately that it sounds like a lullaby to me."Far from the reality"- love is our refuge in this cruel world... and sea personified as love is just fantastic. Stunning piece of work Julie :)
