The Amateur

The Amateur

Eat, Pray, Love

not necessarily in that order

I mean, really…

a girl has to work up an appetite

and she has an appetite that would put

Madame Bovary to shame

She rushes in on A Street Car Named Desire

a breathless sashay of curvy hips

followed shortly thereafter by a somewhat sarcastic smile

as if she’s holding back

The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood

But it’s her To Kill a Mockingbird glance

that gives her away

sizing up the competition

as she singles out her next and possible

Final Target

Secretly hoping The Scarlet Letter is visible

just for conversation sake of course

And while some bow in her Kiss or Kill Me Eclipse

I sit back and sigh…

The Cult of the Amateur

A Book of Love Poetry is much more of an aphrodisiac

Oh well…

 Cheers!

I included the titles of some of my favorite books to lighten the mood of this little rant. (written for the woman that turned our friendship into a competition ~ I pity you)

Oh, the attitude in this one rocks, GF! :) She sizes up her targets.....and truly she never enjoys it when she gets them, does she? Great character study and I loved seeing so many titles of good books woven into your lines. If she tried to turn your friendship into a competition, you just won, hands down. Good one, Julie. Reviews

I have confessed to Julie that I am like an adventurer when it comes to her writings. I have landed by random or following the wrong meaning of a word or simply by enchantment so many times on her page and as I am a creature of habits I have made it into some regularity. In comes madame bouvary and also after watching a very nice documentary on Sylvia Plath it has helped to get closer to Julie's writings. The feelings of contorl over her life, of determination onto her love life of a dominant tendency very attractive appeal make it share a statement that contains beauty. A Book of Love Poetry is much more of an aphrodisiac.

Your poetry is full of mysteries to me. I reckon you are able to summon a Sylph.

Thankyou

So true Cory! :) Julie
My Dear! You didn't disappoint. Then again how could you? What I liked the best is you ventured outside your grid, and you shined! However, be mindful that although your piece is masterful, a lesser piece might stab deeper! Yet yours was truly cold! Well done!

very ingenious of you to inject book titles into a very personal piece of writing… you got mad skills.
I pity here two for she must have a low self-esteem.
