Imagination in Flight

Imagination in Flight

A Poem by MsJewel

art by Pino

Beyond sleepy afternoon naps

cuddled in mama's lap

in the big white wicker chair

and further than the breeze ruffling the curtains,

teasing the calla lilies in the garden

Above the clouds,

beyond the horizon and further than the sun…fading slowly…

Children fly

Imaginations soaring on glittery wings

weaving magical dreams with a Tinkerbelle wand

through endless skies

Fluttering

above enchanted lands and mysterious seas

where captains have hooks and wrongs are made right

in pure innocence

and anything’s possible

because children fly….

I look in her eyes…and I can fly too

Wow, this just sent me right up on to cloud 9 and touched my heart. This is really beautiful. I am a huge fan of Tinkerbelle... she was one of my favourite characters from Disney. Just wow.

You are too kind. Thank you Kyle :) Julie
I love the memories you've rekindled in me. I was able to keep a fantasy alive in my youngest son from the age of 3 to 11 years old. He still doesn't know how I did the things I did that kept the fantasy alive.
Children today grow too fast. The fantastic world of mystery and magic is all to soon shattered.
A parents joy for their children isn't often expressed. A beautiful piece of writing.

Innocence of a child..... dreams of a mother.....
I wonder how much you brought with you from your childhood
to share with your own daughter?

And I hope you are able to see your own . In your daughter from you sharing her teachings.

As always..... you are so talented.
I love this special piece.

Trace.

Thank you sweetie!
This beautiful poem is free verse poetry at its best. Here you have a poem within a poem where children seem as butterflies:

Above the clouds
Children fly
Fluttering
in pure innocence

Your outer poem reminds me of Peter Pan guiding children off to Never-never-land. That storybook picture seems to have inspired it all. If I ever write a response song-poem using rhyme and meter that’s as good as this free verse poem, I’ll keep it for myself as a little butterfly gem. Your poem shall flutter about lighting the corridors of my mind ‘til I do.

JULIE!!!! You've done it again. You have taken me back to my childhood. My mom was a single mother and she would take each one of us, at separate times, and read us bedtime stories. You brought to tears almost with this beautiful piece. So amazing miss Julie!
