To Be In Love With You

To catch the tender breath of night’s soft velvet skies

and steal away the hours lost in your lovely eyes

Then count each fleck of light shimmering just for you

and wonder how one gaze can do what it can do

 

To feel the lightest brush of silk upon my lips

and find it softer than the moonlight’s pale eclipse

Though smooth it sends a spark, igniting passion’s fire

quenched only by your kiss…this stir of warm desire

 

That has my heart pounding, as the flame gently grows

and at once I’ve fallen, like petals from a rose

I waste not a second, nor worry of the time

but cherish each moment in feelings so sublime

 

For anytime apart feels like eternity

while desperately I ache to embrace the beauty

of everything you are and everything you do

Yes, this is how it feels to be in love with you
