Wow, such a stunning piece! The title is what really drew me to this and as I read it...I couldn't help but realize that I often envision being loved as being surrounded by an ocean, the rocks, sand, warmth. The imagery really packed a punch with this and it flowed beautifully. It tells such thoughts and the picture above, when I looked at it longer after I was finished reading this piece, it made me think of a woman who is waiting on the rocks for her lover to return to her. Perhaps he swam out somewhere in search of help and promised to come back for her. Seeing her walk along the rocks, seeing the waves crash a ways before, it takes an aim at your heart for her. What must she be feeling? Is her lover ever to return to her, scoop her up and shower her with the kisses she once received long ago?

Goodness, the busyness of life intervened but I simply had to log back on & read some of your lovely poetry, MsJewel. I particulary adored the lines, "And when I fought with the wind, my soul prepared for flight." So very beautiful. I simply must take the time to post something:)

"you surrounded me with an ocean

The lines above would be a good place to land. No weakness into your amazing words. Thank you.
Ah, to drift in an ocean of sweet poetry.....heavy sigh....and then to feel the warm sand beneath your feet as you walk along the shoreline...bliss! Such a wonderful poem of love...serene. Lydi**
I really love this.
such sincere and gentle memories conveyed
I like how you recall the ocean soft and warm
and the last line pulls those memories together again in a past tense.
Beautiful poem my friend.

dear Julie... Your poem is the epitime of romance
and a dance of passion... with art to bring it to life.
It reminded me of the book and movie
"Wuthering Heights" where true love was
experienced along the turbulent but
beautiful ocean. truly a masterpiece.
