Outside Your Door

Outside Your Door

A Poem by MsJewel

photograph by skiwasser65

Lost in the shadows, a single heart that grieves

                              too deeply to tell

            this stranger to your night

I shiver

in a breeze to cool to kiss away the tears

I close my eyes

and yet I stare into the eyes of passion,

           the eyes of truth

                            eyes that dare not meet

                    in the shadows

   outside your door

Such a highly emotive and intriguing write, Julie! If there is passion there, you can not disguise it. It will not go away by closing your eyes... the truth will come out. “In the shadows”...hmmm....brings to mind desire that is verboten. A poem with hidden meanings...and the graphic is the perfect one to accompany your words. Lydi**

Very sad Julie, but still that beauty that always seems to find me when I visit your page is staring me right in the eyes. Very nice.

Thank you Jack. I appreciate you! :) Julie
You wrapped your pen around melancholy this time around Julie, yet it's still your lovely, straight forward style that I love. Sounds like unrequited love....well done as always. :-)

"eyes that dare not meet

in the shadows
outside your door"- The shadows are ambiguous in this one. Is it shyness, fear, or something else that keeps her in the shadows?

A little of all of the above I'm afraid. Thanks so much Diana :) Julie
This is so terribly powerful. Sad, chilling and heartbreakingly good.

Where you find your inspiration for some of your poetry is frightening.

Very good poetry my friend,
Trace

I wonder is it shyness or shame that keeps our heroine in the shadows. Intriguing.
