Reflections

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ it has been a windy winter in Southern California ~

"

photograph compliments of myopera

~~~
The sun has set on another year
of jeweled fantasies and sandcastle fairytales
and ocean breezes scented with calla lilies
dancing under cotton candy clouds, colored with hope…
While I sailed away on moonbeam kissed waves and poetic rhymes that romanced my dreams and etched my heart…this tender tide
leaving a smile…
perhaps a bit wistful,
but a smile nevertheless
as I soar with the seabirds
on winds of change
I wonder…
If given the chance
could it all stay the same?
But I would not ask
for the sun has set on another year
~~~

My favorite kind of poetry. Ocean, hope and wishes. No weakness in the excellent poetry.

A great write about past memories, mistakes and visions, and the symbol of the new year as a new start, a new hope, a new light. Wonderful poem!

THANKS....HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU MY FRIEND.
Reading this your year sounds a hell of a lot better than mine was. I didn't see any sandcastle fairytales.
That would have been awesome.

I'm wishing you sandcastle fairytales for the coming year! Hugs, Julie
Not a great keeper of the New Year tradition, but I fully understand WHY some are. To Me it is simply another day. But there is nothing wrong at all in having this defining moment to take stock and make plans...All of this twaddle still does not take away the fact that this is yet another fine poem Julie...Happy Wednesday and BEYOND!

Hopefully this next year will be just as beautiful for you as the past year has been, Julie. Your poetry reflects all the beauty you see around you - it must be lovely living in such a world. Happy New Year!

Thank you for your wonderful comment. I appreciate you and your friendship :) Julie
As the year ends, we are all a bit reflective. What would we have done differently? Would we do it all over again? Does it even matter since time is marching on and we have nothing to say in that matter? Magically contemplative words in this one with more than bit of gorgeous imagery. Happy New Year, Julie. May it be a healthy one filled with inspiration. Lydi**
