Mesmerized, captured
in rapture, it's true
lost in the beauty
of all that is you

hypnotized, breathless
from where I am love
you have captured
my every thought of...

romance and passion
and pale midnight skies
where starlight just dims
in the light of your eyes

and soft visions dance
in rose petal dreams
falling from the sky
on silver moonbeams

and I’ve fallen too
with every heartbeat
from where I am now
this feeling so sweet

has me mesmerized
fascinated with you
and dreaming that I’ve
captivated you too

This rhyming is so rhythmically perfect and so well paced with the theme -in other words, the timing of when new concepts come in is very regular and fitted to the rhythm of the words. This is very effective! You seem to be a master of when to rhyme and when not to...and I am jealous. It is hard to always know when a structure is needed and when it isn't, at least for me! Great ending as well. Overall this is just such a thematically complete poem, that is is a real pleasure! Thanks!!

It's really true!! This is a beautiful use of the structure of rhyming and of using that structure to further the meaning of your work!

I couldn't help but read this as being inherently musical. The rhythm of it is steady and driving, and the images and colors began to shove notes into my head. In the end, Sarah Slean sang your poem as a kind of folk tune, or even a shanty, and that's a little weird, but I promise you that she meant every word she sang and I liked it a lot.
