Blowing softly over a liquid blanket of diamonds dancing upon the slow moving water
I shivered as you pulled my wrap over my shoulders holding me close against your chest where the scent of you blended with the sweet anticipation of your kiss
We laughed while the diamonds waltzed in perfect rhythm twirling in tiny pirouettes
Elegant, graceful and with such an ease...
It was only when I felt your lips gently touch mine did I realize I would be making memories
Yes, I remember when the breeze whispered of romance and I fell in love
Julie I must disagree, this is hardly a "simple love poem". The way you make words shine with the gentleness of a sweet kiss, not to mention how your heart reveals itself in the imagery.. well, this is art my friend and as complex and wonderful as life i tself. I am glad to be able to read, thanks. --redzone

Curt, Thank you for your very kind comment. I appreciate you and your friendship :) Julie
OMG! This is by far the best love poem I've read in this site! You absolutely hit it out of the park! This poem deserves to be embedded in a classic romance novel! You've set the bar extremely high! Congratulations on such a piece!

Heavy sigh! A splendiferous love poem, Julie. I felt as though I was magically transported to the scene! "We laughed while the diamonds waltzed in perfect rhythm twirling in tiny pirouettes" Breathtaking images! Going into my library. Lydi**

Thank you Lydi. I'm thrilled you enjoyed this one! :) Julie
dear Julie... we do remember when we fell in love...
Your poem reminded me of the song by Nat King Cole...
"walking my baby back home... we stopped for awhile..
she started to smile...." (and somewhere in that song...
he got talcum all over his chest).
I would love to hear Nat King Cole sing your poems.
Perhaps his daughter Natalie could do just that!
hug... Pat
