A Wildflower

A Wildflower

A Poem by MsJewel
"

a poem I wrote for my daughter ~ you are stronger than you think sweetheart

"

~~~
She has her grandmother’s eyes
and the spirit of a butterfly
beautiful, graceful, carefree
A wildflower in my garden of hope
she dances with the wind
and thrives in the light
delicate and yet..
She never hides from a storm
She is strong enough
to catch raindrops
but still needs rainbows
The same rainbows
that tether her heart to mine
forever
She is a wildflower
with the spirit of a butterfly
and her grandmother’s eyes
~~~

Your daughter is the apple of your eye...the light in your heart. The maternal love and the respect you have for her are vivid in this incredible tribute to Hannah, Julie. If she never hides from a storm, it is because she has learned to weather them watching you! I liked the repetition of the first verse. That was so effective. Gorgeous poetry. Lydi**

Oh my Julie. I don't have words to say how amazing this poem is and how the emotion of a mother's love screams out from your delicate, soft words.
I am in awe of this poem and into my favourites it goes!.
I also adore the repetition of the grandmother's eyes.....sigh....

What a great homage. Her grandmothers eyes perhaps but mothers spirit it would seem.

LOL.. no it isn't me. :)
To say that this is touching would be a massive understatement...if this doesn't lift her spirits I would be shocked...a truly poignant ode to a mother's love, for which there is no substitute...I honestly don't know where my mind would be without the encouragement and support I get from my own...it would not be pretty, I know that...I absolutely adore this piece :)

I like the sort of summary in the last stanza. It makes a great ending. :)
