Intermission

Intermission

A Poem by MsJewel
"

I love watching the sunset...

"

art ~ Lauri Blank

~~~~~~
When the breeze gently cools in the late afternoon
and the sky slowly dims preparing for the moon...
As the surf starts to crash in rhythm on the sand
and seagulls lay quiet, while the sky takes command
of the suns golden glow descending towards the sea
and leaving in her wake, a pallet of beauty
Painted in rainbow hues of yellow, orange and red
sweeping the graceful sky, ''til the sun finds her bed
in twilight's tender pause...as the night will fall soon
and me...just patiently...waiting for the moon
~~~~~~

The personification in this one is super and the imagery, well, the picture you paint is magnificent, Julie. There is a peacefulness about this one. I think I remember it from when it was posted elsewhere....right? I am glad I got to read it again. Wonderful work. Lydi**

dear Julie... the sun's golden glow... "sweeping the graceful sky,
til the sun finds her bed". I love the Intermission... I cherish
its beauty whenever I can... a pallet of beauty painted in rainbow hues.
Your touch is as cool as a blue moon. truly... Pat

Thank you sweetie. Hugs, Julie
it is an incredibly beautiful cycle..sunrise to moonrise..I am lucky enough to live by the sea and although my town is on the east coast of England, it actually FACES west..so we get these sunsets you so expertly describe

Thank you my friend. Enjoy those sunsets :) Julie
I love the construction. It is like a running thought. it works that way and allows the reader to feel like they are thinking this themselves. The ending supports this because the poem is a build up of the anticipation of the moon. You are patiently waiting as thoughts run through your head. Awesome job!

My pleasure :)
I love twilight, probably my favorite time of day. Your wonderful poem brings me there, watching as the sun bids farewell and the moon wakes for it's evening journey, enjoying that little slice of time that plays in between creating rose colored silhouettes on shadowed surroundings. very nicely written Julie. You have painted a beautiful picture with your words.
