Who am I?A Poem by JuliaZpoetrySelf discovery poem and spiritually linked conclusions. This poem is from my book 'Sailing these worldy seas'
Who am I, but these roles I mistake myself to be?
Each day unconsciously, adopting a new personality. I'm playing a part in a play, the director not visible in form. I need to silence my mind, to be able ti hear his call. Lights, camera, action, the play shouldn't be taken to heart, Instead if i resonate with compassion, Then from love i cannot part. I catch myself seeking external fulfillment Forgetting it must come from within, But that forgetfulness could easily condem me To a life that's guided by sin, But still my question remains... Who am I? A mother? A poet? A wife? What paradox such question creates As no thought can define the I in life The life that's alive and present That lays witness to all my perceptions, That realises compulsive self-labeling Is the mind's programmed deception. So who am I in this very moment But life experiencing life. Through the eyes of the one i call me. A mother A poet A wife © 2017 JuliaZpoetry |
