Two of a KindA Poem by Julianna MarieWe are chickens with our goddamn heads cut off-- running blindly in circles, fighting off death as our blood falls to the ground, and our lives turn to seconds-- We are two peas in this decaying pod, and we're only hanging by a thread, fraying at both ends. You're building walls of concrete and loathing (locking yourself out), you're buildling walls of concrete and fury (locking them out) you're building walls of concrete and fear (locking me out)-- To you, I am no different from the rest. I'm running scared (away from myself) I'm running scared (away from them) I'm running scared (away from you)-- To me, you are no different from the rest. I tremble in fear, rather than ecstacy. With your eyes in the sky, and your feet on the ground, how can I escape? You, my dear, are in everything. I talk into the wind, as my words turn to crystals. I talk into the wind, and pray they'll bite at your ears. These walls, you'll run into them one day, and you'll never escape. You'll plead madness, you'll scream hatred, but you'll never escape: We are two peas in this decaying pod, and we're drowning in our own blood. I run around in circles-- because I have nowhere to go. I run around in circles-- because I'm too f*****g afraid. We are chickens with our goddamn heads cut off-- Someone finish us off already, and save us the suffering. Someone finish us off already and eat us, before we eat ourselves. © 2010 Julianna MarieAuthor's Note
