A letter never read

A letter never read

A Poem by Julia
"

a love of a soldier

"

You left because you felt you had too
You fought because you said our country needed you
and now..
I stare at your perfect motionless face
tears streaming down from my eyes.

....................

You died because a country was falling
You died because you left
But...
I died when I was forced to say Goodbye
and
got the letters you never got the chance
to send

You wrote some amazing poetry. I've read a couple and I wish we had more poets like you here.

Speechless! This is how this powerful piece of writing leaves us. I find a hollowness inside my stomach as I finish reading this.

A simple presentation, yet very emotional read of a young soldier and his lover. Sadly, too many of these events are occurring, leaving grieving lovers behind to deal with the fallout. Thank you for sharing this poem with us.
