Serenade me

Serenade me

A Poem by Dallas Rose

I would ask you to serenade me
With your perfectly unsteady voice
that could fill my ears with the sound of what love might be
I would ask you to serenade me
With words of passion and ecstasy that have such meaning
as they make my cheeks as rosy as the blood pumping through my heart
while I confess what true feelings I have for you
I would ask you to serenade me
but you already have
Through the way you pour out your heart and soul
explaining the joys of your own life and making me enjoy it with you
Your words, your tone, your laugh
and even your silence
serenades me
with the beauty of your endless mind
that I'd like to explore every moment I'm with you
because in your presence I am lifted to a higher place
A place where I too can pour out my heart and soul
explaining the joys of my own life and helping you enjoy them with me
my words, my tone, my silence
in perfect rhythm with yours and we are a peace with it till they become
our words, our tone, our silence
A loud silence, a deafening silence, a beautiful rhythmic silence that
serenades me
