The July GirlA Poem by JuliaJust a little something about my name
A beautiful orange and black butterfly on a warm July afternoon.
Soft heart and youthful spirit! That Beatles song from 1968. The winner of most things, Humility despite obvious giftedness. 86th in America, 11th in Canada, France, Belgium, Norway, and Ireland, and 3rd in Poland and Netherlands. There may be many who answer to it, but I’m one of a kind. I am Julia! Julias are said to be artistic, smart, romantic, beautiful, charming, and loved by everyone. Artistic? Sure. Beautiful? Yes! Smart? Maybe. Romantic? I can’t flirt to save my life! Am I charming? Only when I want to be I’ve never been loved by everyone and that’s fine (annoying people is much more fun than pleasing them anyways!) I’m not a stereotype I’m not a characteristic I’m not an expectation I’m not what you want me to be. What you thought about people will likely fly out the window as you get to know me. With me you’ll Laugh until your ribs hurt Smile like an idiot Shout louder than the crowd in joy Get hugs that makes oxygen evacuate you lungs And so much more. Others may claim I’m not that great That there are others just like me and I should just stop. They don’t know me, I won’t give up! There may be many who answer to it, but I’m one of a kind. I am Julia! © 2017 JuliaAuthor's Note
