My Knight in Rusty GreavesA Poem by Jules K.Another heartbreak story
I think of you in these moments.
My light; my knight! In shining armor. Only, yours is bronze, Or rusted. I can never tell. Explain to me why I trusted You, I fell So very hard For green eyes And those pathetic lies... I gave you my heart, The only part Of me that was Vulnerable And young. The essence of My innocence Was murdered along with my pride; A double homicide On your part. Call the Police! Alert the Press! Arrest this Menace! But it isn't illegal To hurt people With your unreciprocated Love. Love? Love... So wishful So debated... But love for me Died at seventeen. I no longer believed In my childish dreams. My wildest fantasies Of Prince Charming on his High horse Were shattered when I found my High heels Were twice The size of his Capacity for Love. So kill the doves, Someone break it to Aphrodite That Ares will never Love Her back. And you could Never Be what I wanted.
