Sacred groundA Poem by JulesThinking of the sea and the elementsStorm clouds gathering, thunder in the air, the sea is roaring and swells appear. Darkness blocking out moonbeams of the night, the elements at force with all their might. Surf drenching rocks and harbours around, all is heard is the screaming sound. The wind howling and the driving rain, preventing the elements is all in vain. All that is dear to man and beast, the elements take over and enjoy the feast. Swallowing everything within it’s reach, Gods animals are stranded upon the beach. Mankind fearing the worst’s not over, quickly seek shelter and run for cover. Like a God angry and rage intent, its work’s nearly over and everything spent. A long night, people voicing hopes and fears, a path of destruction is left to clear. The elements have calmed and done their worst, the tipping of the scales and quenching it’s thirst. Mankind frown and look to the sky, All asking the same, it happened but why? The answer lies and is so blatantly found, Respect the planet it’s sacred ground. © 2008 Jules |
