A Touch

A Touch

A Poem by Jules

The walls fall down and feelings surface

A  Touch

Eyes look away but are still drawn,

feelings of passion suppressed.

Conversations lifting spirit and soul,

but true feelings not addressed.

Working so hard to make things right,

trying to work out what’s for best.

Life so hard, cruel and unforgiving,

and all becomes a quest.

When all seems lost and there is no hope

a hand touches yours and cares.

A flicker of hope and passion ignites,

your fears and troubles are shared.

And from that touch butterflies emerge,

feelings that you’ve not felt before.

Before long your passion’s reality

and you ache to be touched some more.

Arms entwined in what some call

lust, passion and despair.

But in that moment, that initial touch

an essence of love was there.
