Jesus wasn't the only gift

Jesus wasn't the only gift

A Poem by JugHead985
"

a dedication to chivalry

"
a healthy assumption has come this way
what most do on occasion, I do every day
I open doors, and pull out chairs
I order second, and never stare
for it is with grace you accompany me
a show of respect is all you will see

so much more than a pair of ... eyes
you see all the pain behind my disguise
a whole different being, with beauty and poise
this woman before me, who chooses those boys
it was you who was sculpted by his own hand
The giver of life, God's gift to man

what is it inside, burning your soul
that causes your heart and purpose to fold
a wealthy bounty of laughter and grins
all washed away by another man's sins
can you see what i offer is long lasting and true
no need for excuses, a simple yes will do
