1776A Poem by JugHead985a cynical celebration of this fine land
Man, this world is wearing me down
all the hustle and bustle never anytime for me I give it all everyday, but who's there when I lie awake wondering if time could stop for just a while a broke down ship in the sea of denial we went from incense and peppermints to bong hits and political excrement do I give a s**t, if Adam marries Steve not in the least, that's his life to lead Oh man, the country is going down the drain Only because you let it, dumbass, you be the change every November your voice can be heard who knows what beautiful disasters may occur if they taught the constitution, and our laws in the schools wait, that would be education, that s**t aint cool I see this social rampage of who did it and why fingers pointing everywhere, even the sky congressional strikes, with economic recess bet they got paid, handsomely no less the country's in trouble, and you search for blame it's over now, get back in the game Do what you're paid for, and make laws that count money in my pocket, not for bailouts we pay for your help in these times of need not for your lifestyle and insatiable greed I really dont care what goes on in your home by while you're at work, leave mine the f**k alone so there that is, all neat and arranged such is my life, chaotic and strange I know you wont listen to little old me so come November, a replacement I seek A voice in the darkness with something to say that lights the fireworks, on Independence Day Man, this world is wearing me down
all the hustle and bustle never anytime for me I give it all everyday, that's how I can sleep © 2011 JugHead985 |
