Longing to DespairA Poem by Judy Basmaji
Known is a turbid affair
when the mind vows to behold what a heart cannot declare Little of sorrows compare to a heart deprived of love a heart unable to care One cherished with glory so rare yet poisoned with indifference breaks another beyond repair And the brain refuses to bare that lacking within a soul of one so pure and fair And time and again I swear that few deserve pity as a heart that longs to despair.
