A Rose

A Rose

A Poem by Judy Ponceby
"

For Creative Poetry.

"
Close your eyes.
Immerse yourself
in
the sensuous treasure
of
a rose.
Sweet scented
seduction.
Soft, fragile petal
grazing your cheek.
Find yourself
enamored
of cool dew
that slipped
the trenches
of a nimbus cloud and
settled on this
speck of
earth-bound beauty
inspiring
procreative
urges.

I like roses, but you have to be careful of those nasty old thorns. You have a wonderfully expressive style.

I had to inspect this particular write of yours, Judy, because my mom, Susie Q, shelved it in her library. I loved the sensuous nature of the dew-kissed rose that you spoke of. Quite different from your normal writes, but very seductive. You never cease to amaze me! I hope you have went back to read my tribute to you; you continue to receive reviews!!

A lovely tribute to the rose. It is the flower for June, the month I was born. The rose always brings special memories of the red roses my Dad gave to my Mom on their anniversary signifying his love for her. Thank you for sharing your words.
