A Bit of Love

A Bit of Love

A Poem by Judy Ponceby

Eyes of brown
Heart of gold
Sending love
I've been told.

Across the waves
between the vibes.
Written on paper
by the scribes.

Affairs of love in
history gone by.
Lover's seduced
by blink of eye.

Romeo and Juliet.
Cleopatra's Antony.
Guinevere and Lancelot.
And no less, you and me.

Loved and lusted
Sweet as wine.
Stories told
throughout time.

Love goes on
and on my dear.
Open your heart,
put away fear.

For love's soft vision
may well come.
When unsuspected,
your heart will thrum.

" I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think that they will sing for me." T.S. Eliot

I know..."I should've been a pair of ragged claws scuttling cross the floor of silent seas" old crab that I am! (laughing) But this vision of yours is sweet and lovely nonetheless.

This could stand side by side any great poetry. The message to me is almost mystical.

Very well put together and rythmic. Good for the romantic soul in all of us!

The rhyming beauty is astounding simple and divine

So soothingly romantic in an old-fashioned kind of way. Very nice, and no less than I'd expect from the very talented Judy.

Hard not to like this piece, Judy--and you know I always try.
A nice mixture of truth and humor; ending with two stanzas of all lovey-dovey.
Despite the mushy stuff, I still very much enjoyed your poem.
