My Son

My Son

A Poem by Judy Ponceby
"

Being a mother...

"
Watching my son learn and grow
Becoming a charming young man,
With a ready smile and a kind heart.
Sensible and determined.
Thoughtful at times.
Impetuous at others.
Its a joy seeing him start to spread his wings.
Find himself.
Starting down the path to becoming a man.
My only hope is that we have provided him
the tools and foundation he needs
to have faith in himself and his abilities.

What an ode to your son. Brilliant!

Lovely poem Judy. I have written one for my son on his 28th birthday. I am new to writing but it is wonderful to see them grow into young men.

We parents are thrilled by every tiny bit of progress our children achieve, from rolling over the first time to graduating high school and beyond. All the while, we never take our eyes off of them, never come to a point where we say "That's it. I can stop worrying now." Such is the nature of being a loving, caring parent.

Love this, Judy. A mother's deepest hope for her baby grown up. I may not know you all that well, but I would wager you are a pretty terrific mom. You've depicted his character well with just a few words.
