Playing at Ease

Playing at Ease

A Poem by Judy Ponceby

He's a tease, if you please,
He's a tease, if you don't.

He draws you in with those beguiling words,
and turns them around like a flock of birds.

He flatters and charms you, and you let down your guard,
Only to find that he's laughing real hard.

He's only having fun, a joke at the best,
But one of these days, he'll be put to the test.

Can he take some teasing, some old-fashioned pleasing?
Only turning and seeing his love softly smiling,
Quietly knowing, he's host to her scheming.

To find she has gotten inside of those walls,
and charmed his wicked heart until he falls.

Cleverly constructed; well-written with enchanting style.
Yes, Judy, I completely agree with you that women are the superior manipulators.
