Crates N Skates

Crates N Skates

A Poem by Judy Ponceby
"

Hippo delivery with a bit of fun.

"

Hippos in crates
On rollerskates.
Crashing through
the rickety gates.

Crashing and bashing.
Oooooooooooh, how Smashing!
Rolling about,
Their teeth aflashing!

Running amuck!
Watch out for the duck.
Open the doors!
Back up the truck!

Zipping up the ramp,
Like any old champ.
There they go!
Don't forget the stamp.

Crates in the mail!
Delivered without fail.
Those Hippos on skates
Lurching down the trail.

So cute! Hippos on skates reminds me a bit of Fantasia--although your poem is so much more fun! Lovely, lovely poem!

Firstly, how does the idea of hippo delivery arrive in one's head lol?
Secondly, how do you combine that random idea with rollerblades?
Thirdly, how did you manage to make such a funny poem out of this??? xD
"Watch out for the duck."
Favorite line right there. Just randomly, there's a duck! lol.
This poem was ooooooooooooooooooooh, how Smashing :D
Your randomness inspires me lol.

I write something like that, I have to call my shot...screwball in the watch pocket. Great fun, Judy!

You know, of course, Judy, that you're wackier than the proverbial jaybird--though, frankly, I never understood why this poor feathered creature's mental stability is constantly being called into question.
This poem is like watching a very fast-moving cartoon--magically created by your carefully chosen words. No small feat, young lady.
