Carry this con, incenseA Poem by JudeTrainA lucky child doesn't know how lucky he is- David PortnerThese clear drops relentlessly fall, on my keys Even my piano seems weak at the knees Am I the only one howling? Because they continue to keep walking, in and out And the creaks of their feet still echo like the shouts In my mind. So I scream them, I softly scream them through molding sounds, “Mommy I’m catching rainbows now”. Those mellow grips, which I grab Are stalling as they descend from my hands, And devastate these tenements. These hollow tree tricks, which I have Are stilling gnawing at doors. Which Like a magician your face is a fender Burning my fingers towards their core. So I perform, I loosely perform them through cheering crowds, The “Mommy I’m chasing rainbows now”. I am simply not the only inhabitant of this beaten path, One, which I’ll utter, needs change. Sadly, I can say I now see the aftermath, Which I have begun to remediate. © 2010 JudeTrainAuthor's Note
