Love is Like a ShivA Poem by Taffy Lane WriterGoths I saw at Wal-Mart
Outside, standing in the Wal-Mart parking lot By a green Escape radiating the heat I saw two Goths go by in the sunny spot Dressed in black with black hair, all white, but not sweet. The girl on the right picked lint from your shoulder strap, You were looking at me watching you look away, But your expression was like a sign over a trap And I thought you were both at least some sort of gay. For I have seen that look in another reality show For it crossed the face of someone I knew who had died Or never was more than a facade? How am I to know? All I know was it made me sad to see it from this side. Love can be so ugly when it is vain and not real It can engrave your insides on the sharpest steel. © 2014 Taffy Lane Writer |
