Run of the mill inquiry..

Run of the mill inquiry..

A Story by Juan

I systematically itch for death, subsequently longing and welcoming you to scratch my surface, to peel back my flesh and scrutinize my humanity. Agnostic alterations are in your hands so tell me tales of what awaits in my alleged post existence, divulge to me the hallowed confidentiality of the faithfully feared nirvana as you appraise my significance like the patriotic partisans before me. Clarify your deciphered ways in death since you were not a distinct participant in life. With open arms the blessedly mundane, the flocks of flawed and the commonly insecure are judged since perfection is mortally unattainable yet fundamentally requisitioned for a harmonious hereafter in your scriptures. Once again I appeal to the mercy you are renowned for and ask that you put and end to my cynical blasphemy. My declaration has been earnestly frustrating...Like scientist searching the solar system for existence I too search for something. What separates us is the thought and undertone that layer my words, is my conscience trying to purge my mind of what ails it by latching on to faith as a preventive? Or will my sinful yet wholehearted words propel a rebuttal of significance?.....

The narrator is "throwing punches at the wind." He says he wants proof of the afterlife. He implies that he is an aetheist, but has a "respectful tone"--just in case he is wrong:) Nicely captures the struggle with faith and religion that is a universal question. I like that this is very straighforward. He is dealing with the deity--after all! He better be straightforward...lol!
