Betrayal

Betrayal

A Story by Y.F.

Everything just froze - I couldn't move, I couldn't speak. I could only hear a voice talking to me, as I was still holding the phone in my hand, but even that felt somehow off, as if I was only hearing an echo, coming at me from the other side of a great valley, or maybe from the top of the abyss, in which I was falling.

She tried to explain, but I just couldn't accept what was going on at that moment - how could she have done this to me, after all the trust I gave in her, after pouring out my heart, guts, soul, and even offering my feet to her as a gesture of how loyal and trusting I am?

She didn't even apologize, as if she did nothing wrong, as if it's not enough she had to brake me, she had to do it in the most painful way possible. Not that an apology would help.

She lifted me so high I could only see shining stars, and then tossed me, faster than the speed of light, into the pointiest rock in the middle of the earth. As I was slowly covered in lava and brimstone, I saw the devil's face, and even he was shocked at the amount of cruelty. I think I even saw a tear in his eye.

As I sit and write, even the scorn red sky are crying out. They say the storm began as I have landed, and I'm not surprised. Every friend I tell this story to sheds a tear and hugs me, but non of them have anything comforting to say. Few are left with any type of words.

I could never forgive her. Even if she's truly hurt, no pain in the world could compare to what she made me go through. I'm not a vengeful person, but I don't feel very compassionate either. I have no regrets.
