Mind-field

Mind-field

A Poem by Y.F.
"

Tread lightly

"

I used to walk in open fields

with nothing on my mind.

I'd skip and hop without a care,

naive just like a child.

But then began an awful war,

the worst I've ever seen.

Inside my head I can't withstand

the enemies within.

Each thought is ready to explode

beneath my bleeding feet.

I tread with care, yet so aware

these thoughts I can't defeat.

The sky so dark I can not see,

I carry on and cope.

Perhaps one day this war would end,

my mind would clear, I hope.

So many times the war is in our heads. Often we fight ourselves needlessly but we do not know that. This piece is restless and passionate. Clearly you understand those inner struggles. Well done!
