Together Again

Together Again

A Poem by Y.F.
"

Soul mates.

"

I feel like I know you,

though we never have met.

Why when I saw you,

you've seemed so upset?

Did we have an affair

in a previous life?

We're we in some other realm

husband and wife?

Did we kiss every night,

or just turned off the light?

Did we cuddle and hug,

or did we constantly fight?

I feel like I know you,

though we never have met.

Was I Romeo

and were you Juliette?

Were we Cleopatra

and Julius Cesare?

Were you really in love

or were you just a teaser?

Why when I saw you

my heart missed a beat,

my whole body ascended

and detached from my feet?

Can we get what we've lost?

Can we once again be?

Can we really decide,

or is this destiny?

Author's Note

Y.F.
Reincarnation is an interesting subject.
I think the definition of a soul is false at it's base, so it does exist, but not in the way other people believe in.
Anyway, enjoy the poem.

There is an odd sense of humor to this work that made me smile as I read it though it asks very pointed and meaningful questions at the same time. Thank you. Enjoyable.
